“I consider him to be amongst the best I've had the opportunity to work with. Paul's ability to customize and design a training plan is key to making your life the best it can be! ”
Tom Bolewski |  California, USA
My name is Tom Bolewski and I'm a high level quadriplegic. I was originally diagnosed as a "C4 to C7 Complete" with a prognosis of Ventilator dependent, unable to move anything below my shoulders for the rest of my life. After exhausting traditional medical treatments and physical therapy, I began working with clinical exercise physiologists in the pursuit of healing and overall health. After seven years of very beneficial treatment, in 2015 I was introduced to Paul. During the past year and a half of working together, we have achieved many advances. Paul's expertise in clinical exercise physiology and overall knowledge of my injury allowed him to customize my treatment to optimize recovery and quality of life. Being able to stave off secondary illness such as hypertension, obesity and cardiovascular disease is a high priority to ensure longevity and quality of life. Now, sit to stands, standing, assisted walking and working on exercise equipment are part of my routine. I appreciate Paul's professionalism, compassion and complete dedication. I consider him to be amongst the best I've had the opportunity to work with. Every individual's needs are different, Paul's ability to customize and design a training plan is key to making your life the best it can be!

“Paul determined the origin of each problem, then targeting those areas with various exercises and mobility training he began rebuilding what was once painful and unmoving. For me, Paul is a miracle worker”
Ann Schoelen  |  California, USA
I was a very active 56-year-old when I shattered my tibia and fibula in a dirt bike accident, resulting in nerve damage and limited mobility in my ankle and foot. This affected my ability to walk.  I had a pronounced limp, and my physical therapist told me that they had done all that they could.

A year after the accident when the metal plates were taken out of my leg and my physical therapy was done, I couldn’t walk properly and it was affecting other parts of my body.  My knees and hip were trying to compensate for poor ankle and foot function, causing stress and pain in those joints. I’m too young to just sit. I knew in my heart that there was more I could do, so I turned to Paul for help.

When Paul came to evaluate me, I was immediately impressed with his desire to speak to my doctors, look at x-rays, obtain all data possible to understand what was going with my body.  If you’ve ever had a debilitating injury, you will understand the need to continue to have HOPE.  Paul gave me hope.  He didn’t promise anything except that he would give his all to do whatever we could.  The progress was slow, but Paul took pictures at various intervals.  He used the pictures to show me the progress which continued to give me hope.

I don’t want to exaggerate, but for me, Paul is a miracle worker.

Paul determined the origin of each problem, then targeting those areas with various exercises and mobility training he began rebuilding what once was painful and unmoving.

I now walk without a limp.  When I stared working with Paul, I could barely walk one block without pain. With his guidance and encouragement, I can now walk 2 miles.  I still have nerve damage, we can’t fix that, but I have much more flexibility in my ankle.

My brother-in-law recently broke his ankle and tibia.  I encouraged him to call Paul immediately.  While he was resistant my sister insisted.  He and my sister now rave about Paul and are so grateful to me for telling them to not wait, but go immediately for a consultation.

I continue to work with Paul to strengthen my ankle and leg that had atrophied while I had limited mobility.  Paul’s focus was once just my ankle and foot, but we are now strengthening my entire body.  As a woman ages, it is so important to maintain muscle mass.  I have osteoporosis.  Paul’s strength training program targets single muscles or muscle groups, moving slowly and carefully to build a strong body.  He is engaging muscles that I never used.  He is training my brain to move muscles that I’ve not engaged for years.

I could go on and on because I love Paul and can’t say enough about him.

“I received unique care for my injury and health. This has helped me regain my independence”.
Joe NernBerg  |  California, USA
I have paraplegia and met Paul when he worked at a training facility in California. Paul provided exercise and instruction with the aim of improving both my physical abilities as well my overall health and fitness.
I was impressed by Paul's work ethic. He does not merely "punch a clock" and I received unique care for my injury and health.
I appreciate Paul's no-pain approach and his ability to be cautious, yet get me to work hard. Since working with Paul, I have improved both my overall strength, my leg strength and my stamina. This has helped me to regain my independence.
Paul was empathetic to my needs and specific about my exercise plan.

“My energy level has increased tremendously, I no longer fear the flight of stairs at home or taking long walks when I travel”.
Rachel Weissberger  |  California, USA
At age 60 I was always tired my energy level was very low and my bone density was showing Osteoporosis which ran in the family. I exercised at home 3-4 times a week and the results were reoccurring  injuries and pain.
I therefore decided to try and work with a trainer and that is when I started training with Paul Bohannon.
Since I began training with Paul I have become stronger more confident in my physical abilities and my balance. My energy level has increased tremendously I no longer fear the flight of stairs at home or taking long walks when I travel.  My bone density has improved so much that even my doctor was impressed. Overall I have a great feeling of well being, strength and improved quality of life, which I attribute to my exercising with Paul.
Paul is very attentive paying attention to my form and posture during the session. He always adjusts the exercises to my abilities and most important he always listens to my body and my feedback. Paul's dedication, experience, knowledge and approach to training are superb and they all contribute to the great results I have achieved.
Paul makes exercising a fun activity with great rewards.

“Paul understood my unique physical abilities. Paul's exercise prescription has improved my body in several ways. My core is much stronger and my ability to support my weight will help me walk using RGO leg braces ”.
Marc Richards  |  California, USA
I have paraplegia at T4 and met Paul when he worked at a Californian based training facility.
Paul designed a fitness program with my specific goals in mind. I have altered posture and had the goal of being able to train independently and to then be able to walk with my RGO leg braces. Paul understood my unique physical abilities and developed a program that focused on those.
After developing the program, Paul listened to my feedback and we were able to fine tune it until I could do it independently at my own gym. Paul then was able to provide guidance from a distance as needed.
Rather than making up my own random routine, Paul’s exercise prescription has improved my body in several ways. My core is much stronger and my ability to support my weight will help me walk using RGO leg braces.

“I have seen incredible improvements including minimal pain and fatigue! I have been able to go back to work and be confident in everyday activities”.
Alexis Kusnier  |  California, USA
My name is Alexis and I have Ulcerative Colitis (Irritable Bowel Disease). I was diagnosed at the age of 24 and after a rough two-year battle, my disease is finally under control. I lost nearly 40 pounds, suffering greatly from chronic pain and fatigue and knew that I needed professional help. Paul has been able to help me manage my pain, fatigue, and overall health/wellness. He has implemented a personalized training plan that is specific to my needs and goals, as opposed to personal trainers who are solely focused on the shape of your body. Paul has a profound knowledge of the human body and understands the limitations that occur with autoimmune diseases. His approach is unique in that he focuses on movement and strength as part of my daily exercise routine. I have seen incredible improvements including minimal pain and fatigue! I've even been able to go back to work and be confident is doing everyday activities. I can't rave enough about Paul and how much his program has helped improve every aspect of my quality of life: physical, social, emotional, occupational. Eventually, my goal is to train for a triathlon and I know with Paul's help I'll be able to achieve it!

“You got her to stand and walk with assistance and she had so much confidence when you came to work with her”.
Peter Bright  |  Rugeley, UK
I just wanted to thank you for all you did for my wife Barbara prior to you leaving to go and live in the U.SA. As you know due to type 2 diabetes, a series of strokes and the on-set of vascular dementia, Barbara was severely limited in what she was able to do by herself.

Her condition resulted in  lack of mobility, blindness etc. but the time you gave to her was really remarkable. You got her to stand and walk with assistance and she had so much confidence when you came to work with her. Your understanding and thoughtfulness and ability to talk to her about her condition was really comforting, not only to her but all of the family. I know we are all very grateful for everything you did for Barbara to make her life more comfortable.

On behalf of all the family I would like to thank you for everything you did as we are very grateful, with all best wishes for the future.

Kind regards,

Peter Bright & family.

“Through his coaching, Paul helped me realise that our goals can be achieved through self belief, determination & taking small manageable steps”.
FAye Knowles  |  Bolton, UK
I have the pleasure of knowing Paul both personally & professionally. I first met Paul whilst working on a Stroke unit in a hospital in England.  Paul was an inspirational colleague, he was very passionate about providing effective, patient centered, evidenced based care to his clients/ patients and supporting them in achieving their rehabilitation goals to increase their independence, health & well being.

Paul began coaching me with the aim for me to train and complete a triathlon. I have always enjoyed sporting activities but never thought I was capable of completing a triathlon. Initially, Paul analyzed my baseline strength, skills & abilities. He created a personal training program comprising of small achievable goals gradually increasing my fitness & confidence. I successfully completed the triathlon achieving 7th in my age category which I was extremely proud of!

Through his coaching, Paul helped me realize that our goals can be achieved through self belief, determination & taking small manageable steps. I have since applied these principles to other areas of my life which has dramatically improved my confidence, relationships, professional career, health & general well being. I have since had the confidence to tackle other personal goals such as learning to play the piano & improve my french language skills by following Paul's approach.

Paul is extremely knowledgeable in his field of personal training & physiotherapy.  Paul is not just a coach or colleague but has become a dear friend & given me the personal skills to succeed in achieving my goals now & in the future whatever these may be.

Many thanks Paul

“He is super knowledgeable about human body mechanics which helped me understand why certain exercises were key to my recovery”.
Barbara Bryan  |  California, USA
I was having problems walking after foot surgery.  Paul did a comprehensive assessment of my limitations and together we worked on where improvement was needed.  Paul described how the foot should roll from heel, to mid-foot to big toe.  This helped me visualize how I should be walking.  Paul demonstrated balance and ankle strengthening exercises and I would follow his lead.  Paul is very patient and provides just the right amount of guidance.  He is super knowledgeable about human body mechanics which helped me understand why certain exercises were key to my recovery.  Paul also kept it varied so even though we did the same general exercises over and over he would switch it up by doing the exercise slightly differently and even moved the location outside sometimes.  After weeks of work I could see my balance and walking stance improving.  I’m still a work in progress but Paul makes it fun and I can see that with consistent work soon I’ll be walking correctly.

“Paul Bohannon has always been a great reference point for me”.
Rick Porter  |  Lead Physiotherapist
England Women’s Rugby
Paul Bohannon has always been a great reference point for me. As a physiotherapist working with elite athletes in the UK, Paul has had a hand in the success of our rehab programmes over a number of years. Through his unique approach, un-rivalled dedication and caring nature, he will un-doubtadly have more future success in the US.

“He had excellent neurological understanding and skills and was always looking for any opportunity to increase his knowledge and improve his techniques.”
Cathy Holmes  |  Senior Occupational Therapist
New Zealand
I worked with Paul in England in a new service that had been set up to support patients who had recently had a Stroke, to allow them to be discharged from hospital with rehabilitation in their own homes.

Paul was always passionate and committed to his role as the physiotherapist. He was courteous, kind and treated all of his patients with respect and dignity. He also listened to the patients he worked with and was able to develop goals that are tailored, meaningful and relevant to each person.

He had excellent neurological understanding and skills and was always looking for any opportunity to increase his knowledge and improve his techniques.

I was impressed with Paul's drive and ambition and expect he will always do very well in the area of personal training and rehabiliation he chooses.

I wish him all the best.
